ABU DHABI: The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has reported the mercury dropping to 4.2 degrees Centigrade in Hamim, in southern UAE, as fog covered a huge swathe of the country on Sunday morning.

About a third of the UAE's north-east was covered in fog and mist, the agency stated in a Twitter bulletin.

For was reported over Al Ain-Abu Dhabi Road, Al Ain International Airport, Al Minhad in Dubai, Khalifa College (Al Ain) and Sweihan (Abu Dhabi).
It also blanketed Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah — as well as the airports in these emirates.
Patches of fog also covered Ajman in the early hours.
