Dubai: "Moderate winds in general, freshening at times."

That's weathermen-talk for the much-expected cooling down of the desert weather from early evenings till the morning, due in part to the increasing amount of clouds over the UAE's eastern and southern areas, with towering clouds, associated with some rainfall.

But while evenings and morning are starting to get more comfortable — the lowest temperature this morning was 22.8 degrees C at Jebel Jais —  so don't celebrate the daytime temperatures just yet.

The National Centre for Metrology and Seismology (NCMS) on Friday morning noted: “Moderate winds in general, freshening at times, causing blowing dust/sand over exposed areas especially by morning time. The relative humidity will increase during night and early morning over some coastal areas. Sea will be moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea.”

Forecasters also added, "(T)he relative humidity is likely to increase during night and tomorrow (Friday) early morning over some coastal area."

For the most part of the day, though, it will be hot and sticky.

And over the weekend, temperatures will hover in the low to mid-40s across most of the emirates.

Humidity will actually increase in the evening along UAE coastal areas as moisture, which could bring some rain, builds up in the next few days, they said.

NCMS reported light showers in Al Heyar and Al Jimi districts in Al Ain, on Wednesday evening.

Weather conditions will be more comfortable in the UAE’s eastern mountainous areas with temperatures in the low to high 30s.

And while forecasters said general conditions will be “hot to very hot and hazy" in general, it will however be partly cloudy over some areas.

By Friday morning, high humidity from Thursday evening could see mist forming in some of the country's eastern and southern areas.

High summer temperatures aren't expected to break until late September, giving UAE residents a much-needed break from the seasonal heat of mid-year conditions.
