Dubai: More rain is expected to continue in the eastern region this week, and on Monday morning, dark clouds were already forming.

The summer rain was able to give residents a break from the heat, as temperatures lowered to highs of 41 degrees Celsius, according to the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) in Abu Dhabi.

Residents took to social media to share their video clips of the rain, which mostly affected Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and nearby villages on Sunday afternoon.

Al Ain City also received rainfall on Sunday, and is expected to receive some more, according to the NCMS.

For the rest of the UAE, the weather on Monday will remain very hot in general, with dust and sand expected to continue blowing over exposed areas. The sea will be moderate in the Arabian Gulf, and is expected to become rough at times in the Oman Sea.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology's weather forecast for the UAE until Wednesday.

The NCMS also said that temperatures in the coastal areas will reach a maximum of 47 degrees Celsius, while the internal and mountain regions will linger at around 50 degrees and 43 degrees respectively.
