Dubai: Temperature continues to drop across the UAE with night-time lows already falling well below seasonal average lows of around 20 degrees Celsius.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) in Abu Dhabi, temperatures for the early morning hours of Wednesday in the mountainous areas of the UAE were forecast to dip as low as 14 degrees Celsius.

The weather outlook compared to other predictions of 18C inland and 23C along the coastal areas of the UAE, said the NCMS.

The weather centre said on its Twitter account that the lowest morning temperatures in the country was recorded on Tuesday at 15.2C around 2.45am at Jebel Jais Mountain.

The falling of very low overnight temperatures mirrors declining daytime highs that have dropped to the low 30s.

The weather centre said conditions for Wednesday will see “fair and cloudy weather over some areas, some towering clouds may appear over the mountains by afternoon. Light to moderate winds, freshening at times, and blowing dust over some internal areas”.

Forecasters said on Tuesday that “relative humidity will increase during night and early morning over some coastal and internal areas with a chance of fog formation”.

Light winds will make seas in the region slightly choppy.

“The seas will be moderate in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea,” the NCMS said.
