Dubai: Summer showers brought temporary relief from the scorching heat in Al Ain, Sharjah and the country's Dhafra region on Friday.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) reported light to moderate rain on the southeast Hamim district, Al Faqa and Al Madam in Sharjah.

In Al Ain, rain was recorded over Al Hili, Al Foah, Malaqet and Khatam Al Saklah districts.

Towering clouds that formed over a wide swathe of the country brought the rain while strong winds kicked up dust in other parts of the country.

Since the rain was just for a limited time and area, there was no significant effect on the temperature as the rest of the country remained warm in general and hazy at times.

The highest temperature was recorded on Friday in Mezaira area at 3.45 om at 49.4 degrees C.

Weathermen sent out an alert note on Friday warning residents of strong winds and blowing dust to affect visibility in the eastern parts of the country.
