Dubai: The weather on Wednesday changed in various areas of the UAE, with gales of up to 58km/h expected to blow over the next two days between the cities of Al Ain and Abu Dhabi.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issued a weather alert to warn motorists of poor horizontal visibility of less than 2,000 metres at times due to dust in suspension over scattered areas, especially in Al Dhafra Region at night.
On Twitter, the UAE’s Storm Centre said that south-easterly and easterly winds will affect most of the country and raise dust and dirt in exposed areas, while high temperatures are expected to continue.
Residents on the eastern coast also witnessed some drizzle across the towns, as the NCM explained that “the amount of low clouds will increase and light rain may fall,” with humidity levels expected to rise between 60 per cent and 80 per cent in coastal areas during the night and into the early morning.
Weather forecasters urged sea-goers to take precaution due to rough offshore waves that will reach as high as 4-7ft offshore in the Arabian Gulf and 3-6ft waves in the Oman Sea.
The temperature, according to the NCM, will range from 14 degree Celsius to 31C in coastal areas, 12C to 34C in internal areas, and 10C to 21C in the mountain region.
