Dubai: Weathermen said there are chances of scattered rain across the country on Monday that may cause a drop in temperatures.

Cloudy and overcast skies are expected to continue until Monday, bringing a chance of slight rain over the coastal, western and island areas on Sunday, according to the weather bulletin of the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS).

Towering clouds associated with strong winds may blow at times on Monday, causing blowing dust and reducing visibility over open areas.

Residents woke to partly cloudy skies on Sunday morning that became overcast by midday.

Light showers were seen over Al Sila, Masafi, Thawban, Seige and Al Ain. Makassib island in Abu Dhabi received 0.2mm of rain on Sunday morning.

It drizzled in Khalifa City in Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Sharjah, Al Minhad and adjoining areas on Sunday afternoon.

The partly cloudy conditions caused a drop in temperature on Sunday. The lowest temperature recorded over the country was 17.4 degrees Celsius at Jebel Jais at 5am on Sunday. The highest recorded temperature was recorded at 41.3C at 3.45pm in Ras Musherib, in the Western Region of Abu Dhabi.
