Dubai: Rain may hit the eastern parts of the country, extending to the southwestern parts of Abu Dhabi on Monday, forecasters said on Sunday.
“The country is experiencing a low pressure in the surface air and low pressure in the upper layer, causing cloud formation associated with rain over the east of Al Ain and some parts to the southwest of Abu Dhabi near Al Wathba. The case will continue until Monday,” a forecaster from the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS), told Gulf News on Sunday.
On Sunday, light rain was recorded over Al Saadiah. Light showers of about 0.4mm were also recorded in Al Dhaid on Saturday.
Active winds associated with convective and towering parts may kick up dust and sand in scattered areas. NCMS issued a warning for residents to be cautious when driving in open areas due to poor visibility at times that could go down to 1,500m.
There will be no significant change in temperatures as the same air mass is affecting the country. The coastal areas will have average temperatures of between 33C and 38C, while internal areas will have 37C to 41.
Residents are warned against heading off to sea as the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea will be moderate to rough with up to 3 feet waves onshore and up to 6 feet swell offshore in the Arabian Gulf and up to 3 feet wave onshore and up to 6 feet swell offshore in the Oman Sea.
