Dubai: The weather across the UAE became a lot colder than usual as areas in the eastern region reached temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius.

Jebel Jais was the coldest area on Monday at a cool 4.8C. The other four areas which topped the coldest places in the UAE included Raknah at 6.5C, Jebel Mabreh at 6.6C, Damtha at 6.9C and Al Ghuwaifat at 7.4C.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said that the weather will be fair to partly cloudy in general, and hazy at times. Strong northwesterly winds will blow throughout the morning, becoming milder by the afternoon and evening.

The relative humidity is also expected to increase at night and early morning over some internal and coastal areas, with a chance of fog and mist formation.

The temperature, according to the NCM, will range from 10-22C in coastal areas, 6-23C in internal areas, and 2-12C in the mountain region.

By Tuesday and Wednesday, the weather will change with a “slight rise in temperatures”.

The sea will be rough in the Arabian Gulf, with winds ranging from 15-30km/h, which may reach up to 45km/h at times.

The weather on Thursday and Friday will be partly cloudy, with humidity likely to rise between 70-95 per cent in coastal areas and 75-95 per cent in internal areas.

“There will be a chance of fog or mist over scattered areas, with a slight gradual rise in temperatures,” said the NCM.
