Dubai: Residents celebrating Eid Al Fitr outdoors should expect hot and hazy weather during daytime but milder weather at night, the weather bureau said.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology said cloudy but hot weather will greet holidaymakers in the country this week with maximum temperatures ranging between 36 degrees Celsius and 42C along the coast while it will be hotter in the mainland with the mercury rising between 42C and 47C.

Those wanting a respite from the summer heat may head northwards this Eid to mountainous areas where temperatures could range between 29C and 35C maximum and a minimum of 25C and 29C.

On Monday and Tuesday, winds will be moderate to fresh and blow in a northerly and northwesterly direction, especially over the western areas, causing blowing dust over some inland areas. The Arabian Gulf will be moderate to rough while it will be slight to moderate over the Oman Sea.

Wind speeds will decrease by Thursday and the sea will be moderate over the Arabian Gulf.

The relative humidity will increase over some coastal and internal areas especially on Wednesday and Thursday with a chance of mist or fog.
