Dubai: The weather on Wednesday has started cooling down, and residents can look forward to slightly chillier days ahead over the weekend.

The UAE can expect lows of 11-18 degrees Celsius in coastal areas, between nine and 16 degrees Celsius in internal areas, and 10-17 degrees Celsius in the mountain region.

The lowest temperature was recorded in Jebel Jais, dropping to 6.7 degrees Celsius.

The top five minimum temperatures on Wednesday, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), also included Jebel Mebreh at 7.8 degrees Celsius, Hamim at 8.4 degrees Celsius, Damtha at 8.9 and Raknah at 9 degrees Celsius

The NCM said that the weather forecast until Friday will be partly cloudy in general, and hazy at times.

Residents can expect a fall in temperature as clouds will increase over some areas, especially in the northern emirates and at sea, with a probability of light rainfall.

Mild northwesterly winds will blow over the coastal areas, while southwesterly-northwesterly winds will affect inland, which may cause rising dust over exposed areas.

The relative humidity is likely to increase by night and early morning over some internal areas, with the probability of fog and mist to form.

Beachgoers can also expect rough to very rough waves in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea, with wind speed likely to peak at 38km/h.
