Dubai: Residents awoke to a blanket of fog in the emirates on Wednesday morning.
Thick mist from Dubai Marina to Deira smothered windows in high-rise towers with a spooky shroud.
Commuters were forced to make their way to work at a steady pace due to low visibility on the city's main highways. An accident was reported on the north-bound direction of Al Khail Road.Police appealed to motorists to drive safely.

At least 12 flights were delayed in the UAE. Two outbound flights were delayed at Dubai International and five in Abu Dhabi International from 6am to 8.20am on Wednesday.
Five inbound flights in Sharjah International and another two in-bound flights in Dubai were also delayed during that period.
Twitter-users were quick to snap pictures of the mist in both Dubai and neighbouring Abu Dhabi before posting the shots to social media accounts.
