Dubai: The General Headquarters of Dubai Police urged seafarers and fishermen to be cautious due to bad weather conditions.

It added that swimming has been temporarily suspended because of the rough sea resulting from strong winds.

Major Ali Abdullah Al Qaseeb Al Naqbi, head of marine rescue at Dubai Police, said the red flag has been raised to ban swimming on beaches, and called on the public to comply with municipal and police instructions in this respect.

“Based on the meteorological reports, the sea will be turbulent most of the time and waves will be rising. Therefore, seafarers and fishermen are warned not to venture out to sea,” he said.

Major Al Naqbi said that Dubai Police are prepared to deal with all emergency cases round the clock, urging the public to call 999 in the event of an emergency.
