Sharjah: A young man was arrested for reckless driving and dangerous road stunts on Al Shuwaib Road in the Central Region of Sharjah on Tuesday, police said.
The young man, identified as a Gulf national in his 20s, was arrested and his vehicle was impounded, said a senior police official.
Colonel Ahmad Bin Darwish, director of Sharjah's Central Region Police, said the driver had covered the plate numbers — both front and back — of his car to avoid being detected by the police devices.
He was driving at a high speed and in a reckless manner, putting his life in danger as well as other road users.

Police received information about the reckless driver from road users, then police informed all traffic patrols about the vehicle.
After short time police arrested the driver and took him to Al Madam police station for legal action.
The case will then be referred to the public prosecution after police investigations completed.
Col Bin Darwish urged motorists, especially young drivers avoid bad behaviour, abide by traffic rules, and help make the roads safer.
