Dubai: What’s the best way to remind pedestrians to adhere to basic traffic rules, such as the proper way cross the road?

The usual route would be to hand out brochures, conduct lectures or splash your message on traditional or social media.

Well, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has found a rather direct way to send the message across, by pulling off a fast one on pedestrians.

As part of the Gulf Traffic Week, RTA's creative teams have devised an stunning way — quite literally — to drive home the point among pedestrians to cross roads using zebra crossings only.

The team went out on the streets armed with a hidden camera and some really cool horns, alarming sound alerts on pedestrians who don’t cross the road using designated areas.
