Dubai: The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai has announced that all paid parking zones will be free of charge on the 'Isra'a Wal Miraj'  holiday, which falls on April 23.

Moaza Al Marri, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communication, RTA, said: “All paid parking zones will be free across the emirate on Sunday with the exception of multi-level parking lots and the Fish Market parking area. Paid parking fees will be reactivated on Monday April 24,” she said.

All customers’ happiness centres will be closed during the holiday and will resume work on Monday, according to the RTA.

Last week, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources announced that Sunday will be an official holiday for ministries and other Federal Authorities, with work resuming the following day on Monday, April 24, 2017.

Public transport timings

In a statement, the RTA also said that the timings of public transport services will change during the long weekend.

“All centers affiliated to service providers will be closed on Saturday, April 22, and will resume service on Sunday, April 23,” said Al Marri.

During the holiday on Sunday, the Metro Red Line stations will operate from 5.30am to 12 midnight and the express Metro service will continue as normal. The Green Line stations will operate from 5.50 am to 12 midnight.

The Dubai Tram will be in service on Sunday from 6.30am to 1am the following day.

Metro feeder bus stations at Rashidiya, Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Battuta, Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall, Abu Hail, and Etisalat will be in service from 5am to 12.20am (past midnight).

The timing of Dubai’s public buses at various stations on Sunday will be as follows:

Main bus stations such as the Gold Souk Station, will operate from 4.25am to 12 midnight.

Al Ghubaiba Station will be in service from 4.30am to 12 midnight.

Sub-stations such as Satwa, will start from 4:57am to 11.35pm except for Route C01, which operates, around-the-clock.

Al Qusais Station will run its bus service from 4:30am to 12 midnight.

Al Quoz Industrial Station will be in operation from 5am to 11.30 pm, while Jebel Ali Station will start business from 5am and continue up to 12 midnight.
