Sharjah: The Sharjah Municipality has introduced new paid parking zones in streets of Al Majaz 3 to ensure easy availability of parking spaces.
The municipality announced that the parking fees will be imposed in areas including Al Khan and Al Khalidyah, effective from January 16.
Ahmad Ali Abu Gasen, Director General of parking section, said that paid parking machines have already been installed in the areas concerned. He added that the project will ensure availability of parking space for residents and visitors while minimising the misuse of parking lots in the area.
The municipality is also making parking fees payment easier, with options to pay through SMS. Motorists can also apply for three-month, six-month or one-year parking stickers or cards that are available at the municipality.
