Dubai: Several UAE commuters came late to work on Tuesday after the Dubai Metro trains encountered delays during the morning rush hour.

Passengers reported that the red line of Dubai’s main transportation link, which runs between Rashidiya and UAE Exchange, stopped working at approximately 8.05 am or 8.10 am.
The trains abruptly stopped in between stations and each interruption lasted for a few minutes to nearly half an hour, leading to huge crowds forming at the platforms.
There were delays encountered at a number of pick-up points, including Burjuman, Noor Bank and First Abu Dhabi Bank, forcing the unloading of passengers at various stops.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) confirmed that there were delays on the Dubai Metro, but it clarified that the services were restored within minutes.
One of the passengers, Edith, told Gulf News that the train she was on bogged down three times between Business Bay Metro Station and Mall of the Emirates.
“I took the train from Union Metro Station, but when we were past Business Bay, the train stopped. The services were again interrupted twice, just before reaching MOE. The delay lasted for 25 to 28 minutes,” she said.
"The longest stop was at the Noor Bank Station. There was no announcement or advisory about the delay and some passengers had to get off at other stations as the train started getting crowded."
