Dubai: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority will upgrade the services on seven public bus routes effective from September 25.

The move aims to enhance the happiness of bus riders and meet the rising demand for these service in the emirate of Dubai.

Mohammad Abdullah Al Ali, Director of Planning and Business Development at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, said the seven routes are: Route 17, 32C, 367, C7, F1, F10 and Route X25.

“Improving these routes is a quick response to the needs of mass transit users and in line with the growing mobility in Dubai following the rapid expansion of public transit means, especially public buses in the emirate,” he said.

Route 17, which starts from Al Sabkha Bus Station, will extend to serve the Dubai Police Residential Community at Muhaisnah 4, and several other districts in the area.

Route 32C from Satwa Bus Station to Al Qusais Bus Station will pass by Al Jafliya Metro Station in both inbound and outbound journeys.

Route 367 will run from Etisalat Metro Station to the International City (New Dragon Mart).

Route C7 from Abu Hail metro station to Dubai Healthcare City metro station, will have shorter service frequency between Union metro station and the Dubai Healthcare City metro station.

Route F1, which is from Union metro station to Al Baraha, will now serve main and external bus stops of the Union metro station on Omar Bin Al Khattab Street.

Route F10 starting from Al Rashidiya metro station heading to Al Warqaa, will also have more frequency to Al Warqaa, which will serve additional districts in Al Warqaa 1.

Route X25 will be from Al Karama metro station to Dubai Outsource City through Dubai Silicon Oasis.

He added that these improvements are in line with the RTA’s third strategic goal, which is People’s Happiness.

“Improving the routes of public buses is one of the strategic objectives and key pillars of raising the rate of journeys” using mass transit by people, Al Ali noted.
