Dubai: Shindagha Tunnel will be partially closed from midnight on Friday for maintenance, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced.
The tunnel will be closed for traffic from the direction of Bur Dubai to Deira between midnight of Friday August 22 and 6am on Saturday August 23.
The closure is scheduled for routine maintenance of roads inside the tunnel.
According to Maitha Bin Udai, CEO of RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency, Traffic from Bur Dubai direction will be diverted to the other side to ensure smooth movement of vehicles.
“Maintenance works require full closure of the tunnel in the direction from Bur Dubai to Deira and diverting traffic to the other direction. The RTA is keen on ensuring the continuity of traffic movement from Bur Dubai to Deira and vice versa such that the open direction will be prepared to handle the traffic movement smoothly from both sides,” said Maith.
She called upon motorists to cooperate, exercise caution and comply with the speed limits and traffic signs.
