Dubai: Dubai Metro services faced disruptions since early on Monday when a burst tyre of a truck at a bridged intersection landed on the metro rail, leading to 'damages', according to the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
The disruptions affected the stations from Ibn Batuta and Jebel Ali Industrial Area on the Red Line, it said.
In a series of tweets, the RTA said the service disruption was due to a road accident involving a truck and a vehicle on the intersection near Jebel Ali Metro Station. A truck tyre fell on the metro viaduct, which caused damages to the rails.

The following Red Line metro stations are affected by the interruption in both directions: Ibn Batuta, Energy, Danube and Jebel Ali Industrial Area.
To ensure safe and smooth commuting, the RTA provided a shuttle bus service and taxis between the affected stations. The last stop on the Red Line in Jebel Ali-bound route is also out of service.
It was not immediately clear when the metro services on this section will resume.
Meanwhile, Dubai Metro services are running in both directions between Nakheel Harbour and Tower to Rashidiya.
RTA said its technical team is working to rectify the situation and restore the service soonest.
