Dubai: Real Madrid star Karim Benzema went sightseeing in Dubai using a police super car, Dubai Police said on Thursday.
The French star was attending the Nas (Nad Al Sheba) Ramadan Sports Festival football tournament when the police offered him a trip to see tourist sights in the city.
A McLaren picked up the footballer from the tournament and took him around to some tourist spots.
The French striker, who has been on vacation in Dubai following Real’s Champions League victory, praised Dubai Police’s efforts to spread safety in the city.
The Dubai Police’s fleet of super cars include the Bugatti Veyron, which is the jewel in the crown of the force’s fleet. Dubai Police use the fleet of luxury cars to promote their image and encourage greater interaction with the public. The cars enhance the force’s presence at landmark tourist sites such as Burj Khalifa, JBR and the Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Boulevard.
The police force also has a Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4, Aston Martin One-77, Bentley Continental GT, Ferrari FF, Audi R8, Nissan GTR, Mercedes SL 63 and the McLaren MP4-12C.
