Dubai: A nine-year-old Emirati girl has won an Infiniti Q50 luxury car in the Shop & Win weekly draw of the ongoing Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS).
Salama Ali Mohammad was one of the two winners selected every week in the promotion, in which shoppers in Dubai get the opportunity to spend Dh200 at participating malls and get a chance to win a brand new Infiniti Q50.
For the duration of six weeks, 12 Infiniti Q50 cars are being raffled away as prizes and there will be two winners per week, increasing the chances of winning.
While most nine-year-old girls are busy enjoying the summer, Salama was eager to start a photography business, which led her to shop at Arabian Centre to buy a camera.
“I am really happy that I won the car. My mother is going to use the car and I am going to ask her first to take me to Kidzania in our new Infiniti Q50 car,” Salama said.
The other winner in the second weekly draw was Lebanese George Ashkar.
The winning raffle coupons were picked at the second weekly draw held on July 23 at City Centre Me’aisem.
Ashkar said: “Last week, I went to BurJuman Centre to buy my wife a Rolex watch as a gift. I just got this good feeling when the store representative told me about the ongoing promotion. I usually don’t participate in raffle draws but as I had 200-odd raffle coupons, the probability of me winning the car was higher, and I did win!”
The next draws will be held on August 6, 13, and 20.
The promotions are organised by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism) and the Dubai Shopping Malls Group.
The 43-day DSS 2016, themed ‘Own the Summer’, offers shopping, entertainment and rewarding experiences from July 9-August 20, in what is the largest and longest summer extravaganza in the region, organisers say.
