Dubai: Dubai Municipality employees can now get up to 10% discounts on Emirates fares to all destinations.

The civic body recently signed a partnership agreement with Emirates Airlines on offers and privileges to Municipality employees and families, it said in a statement on Monday.

As per the agreement, Emirates shall offer Municipality employees and their family members other than father and mother (wife and children), with discounts on economy class tickets and business class by 10% and 4%, respectively, according to its travel plans on all destinations covered by the airline.

An additional 10-kg luggage per passenger shall be allowed for Economy and business classes for a Municipality employee, as well as any additional privileges according to prior coordination between the parties.

The agreement is in line with the efforts of the Municipality and Emirates to strengthen their mutual understanding as part of a strategic partnership aimed at creating and promoting constructive cooperation between them, municipality said.

Dubai Municipality employees will receive offers and privileges of Emirates through e-mail, informing them of the booking process and reservation channels available for the privileges offered by Emirates. 

Terms and conditions 

The employees can purchase tickets for their official trips using LPOs and payment must be made by the Municipality within 30 days from the date of payment receipts through Emirates Online on the airline’s website, or at the offices of Dnata or Al Rayes Travels.

Emirates shall give priority to Dubai Municipality in informing by e-mail any offers made to the public and a monthly report shall be submitted to the authorised coordinator of the Municipality carrying the number of employees traveling for official trips through Emirates.

Two ticket upgrades shall be granted to Dubai Municipality employees every month, in accordance with prior coordination between the two parties against the required flight status in case of availability of business class accommodations.

This will exclude destinations such as the USACanada, Australia and New Zealand.
