Sharjah: The Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH) has announced the launch of its Summer Camp programme, ‘My Prophet Taught Me’, which will run from July 24 to August 10.

The programme of summer activities includes various interactive events for children aged between six and 10 that mainly focus on the importance of the recognition of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), and the teachings of his Sunnah.

“This project had been prepared and executed during the summer holidays in order to occupy children’s leisure time with activities of interest related to their history and culture,” said Abdul Aziz Al Musallam, director of SIH.

The camp is open to children every day from 8am to midday and is held at SIH premises.

Al Musallam added that the summer camp programme includes a number of daily lessons, including the etiquette of greeting, smiling and seeking permission, knowing the pillars of Islam, how to perform ablutions and prayers, and mealtime etiquette.

“The programme also includes healthy breakfast meals, daily, incentive gifts for children, a visit to the Arab Heritage Centre Museum, and a visit to the Heritage Library to acquaint the children with books available for their age group,” said Al Musallam.
