Dubai: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) held an awareness campaign for public bus drivers to educate them on health issues and its relation to the risks and consequences of traffic accidents.

The event, held in collaboration with Dubai Healthy Authority (DHA) and Dubai Police, attracted a huge number of participating bus drivers at Al Aweer Bus Depot.

Basil Ibrahim Saad, the Director of Buses at the Public Transport Agency of RTA said the campaign included several educative and health care workshops conducted by DHA and Dubai Police, in the presence of several directors and staff members of the RTA as well as external associates.

“The campaign is part of RTA’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness about employees health and to enhance their safety and efficiency during their professional career.

Eventually, the campaign will enhance the safety of road users and contribute to realising RTA’s vision of “Safe and Smooth Transport for All.”

These activities are part of the existing partnership and cooperation between the RTA, DHA and the Dubai Police, he added.

Saad thanked the participants and urged them to continue organising more such campaigns and engage as many bus drivers as possible, He noted that such campaigns would have a significant impact on consolidating public health and safety concepts in line with RTA’s vision of Safe and Smooth Transport for All.

Souvenirs were presented to the bus drivers who participated in the campaign and they expressed their pleasure for benefiting from it.
