Dubai: Images captured of a gorilla from Virunga National Park, Rwanda, are going to be showcased in a new photography exhibition to open in Dubai on Thursday.

“The Gorilla Trails”, which aims to give a voice to wildlife conservation, will showcase 18 magical moments from the park photographed by Peter Hudson.

The solo photography exhibition by PT (Paws Trails) Explorers, a global platform for photographers and wildlife enthusiasts, will run from February 8 till February 11 at the Gallery of Light in DUCTAC, Mall of the Emirates, and will be open to the public, it was announced.

Nisha Purushothaman, Co-founder of Paws Trails Explorers, said PT Explorers spend more than nine months of a year in the wild capturing images and sharing stories. He said for them these events are a tool to open dialogue about nature conservation.

“We are passionate about the eco system and the preservation of all species, our exhibition of the gorilla images is to inspire our moral and primary obligation to preserve and protect other beings. If an image can inspire someone to take a small step to protect the vanishing beauties, why not?,” added Hermis Haridas — Co-founder of Paws Trails Explorers.

Peter Hudson, a Professor of Biology, Director of Life Sciences at Penn State and also a visiting Professor at the Nelson Mandela Institute in Tanzania, has studied the ecology of wildlife diseases, including those infections that spillover from wildlife to humans. He is passionate about biology and intrigued about how we can capture behaviour and interactions between animals using photography.

For wildlife enthusiasts, there is an exclusive seminar by Hudson on February 9 at 10am in DUCTAC.
