Dubai: Apart from treating patients, paramedics of the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS) are dedicating visits to injured patients and new mothers as part of a new initiative.

The initiative, ‘Tamena A’laik’ (Tell Me How You’ve Been), aims to give moral support to patients injured in traffic accidents and women who have recently given birth.

Lena Al Mulla, a customer happiness specialist, said the initiative received a positive response from patients who were surprised to see paramedics walk in, carrying symbolic gifts and wishing them well.

“The visits were made to patients who were previously transferred to hospitals through the ambulances or have been treated on spot for mild or moderate injuries. A team of paramedics along with staff from the Happiness Department also carried out visits to new mums who have been transferred [to hospitals] in the women ambulance,” she said.
