Dubai: The body of Emirati soldier Saeed Anbar Juma Al Falasi is expected to reach home on Thursday after he succumbed to his wounds at a hospital in France, according to his family.

Al Falasi was injured two weeks ago while fighting in Yemen as part of the Saudi Arabia-led Operation Restoring Hope.

Hussain, his relative, told Gulf News that the fallen soldier’s father and mother received the tragic news with great shock but have found great solace knowing their son is in heaven.

“Losing one of our heroes is a hard thing, however, he died in the line of duty, protecting our nation and homeland. It’s a loss for us and he will be missed.”

The martyr has a three-year-old child named Hamad.

Al Falasi was born on April 1986 and was one of six children and is survived by a brother and four sisters.

Hussain said that his siblings are proud of their brother.

“Our brother was brave and he was always in the forefront to serve the community and the country. He was not afraid of dying and was always eager to lead from the front. We are proud of him.” he said.

Hussain praised Al Falasi and recited verses from the Quran which mention the value of martyrdom.

He said that Al Falasi’s brother, Salem, and three of his sisters had accompanied their brother during his treatment in France and they had reached the country on Wednesday.

The family members are preparing for the funeral.

Al Falasi will be buried in Al Quoz cemetery in Dubai.

Condolences were to be accepted at the family house in Al Wasl in Dubai.
