The General Command of the UAE Armed Forces on Thursday announced the martyrdom of Abdullah Ahmad Al Hosani while performing his duty as part of the Saudi-led Arab coalition’s Operation

Restoring Hope in support of Yemen’s legitimate government.

The General Command extended its condolences to the martyrs’ family, praying to Allah Almighty to rest his soul in Paradise.

Yousuf Al Hosani, brother of the martyr, told Gulf News that his brother, 26, was eagerly awaiting the birth of his child. He was a resident of Al Falah, on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi.

“He married six months ago and his wife is expecting a baby. He is a hero, the best brother a person can have,” Yousuf told Gulf News.

Martyr Abdullah has six brothers and five sisters. He telephoned Yousuf two days ago to apologise and asked for forgiveness.

“It was like he knew what was to come. He called me two days ago and apologised saying he might not be able to attend my wedding at the end of this month.”

“He was from our tribe, and as a member of the tribe, we all feel proud of him as he was martyred while serving the nation. He was a very down to earth person; everybody loved him.

“The martyr had been serving the Armed Forces for the past six years. We pray to Allah to grant him Paradise.”

Khalifa Hassan, cousin of the martyr, said, “He was the most obedient son among all brothers and a God-fearing person who always wanted to serve the nation. All our family members today feel proud of him and he devoted himself to the service of the nation.

“I would say we have lost a very precious son of the nation. He was a great person who was liked by everybody.”

Adel Al Jasmi, brother-in-law of the martyr, said, “At 3am, we received a call informing us that Abdullah was martyred in Yemen. The entire family went into deep shock.
