Ajman: Police have arrested an African man allegedly behind the death of his countryman, whose body was found in a house near an industrial area in Ajman.

The body of the 30-year-old victim D.M.I bore a stab wound and was found in the house after a complaint about a stench coming from the house.

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) said the 37-year-old suspect R.A.A. was arrested for allegedly killing D.M.I using a sharp tool.

Major Ahmad Saeed Al Nuaimi, Deputy Director of CID, said the CID were able to uncover the case after an intensive investigation. “A team was immediately formed from the CID department after the body was found,” he said, adding that the team began interrogating a number of people living close to the area of the crime scene.

Police managed to first arrest an African man, H.N.R, who was believed to have been present during the crime. Upon interrogating H.N.R, he told police that he and the suspect were having a dispute over work-related matters, and when the victim had interfered to stop the fight, the suspect stabbed him with a sharp tool and fled the scene.

Police were then on the hunt for the suspect until they were finally able to locate him and arrest him.

The suspect confessed to his crime and his case was transferred to Public Prosecution.

Maj Al Nuaimi praised the efficiency of the police and their efforts in arresting the killer and solving the case.

He called on the public not to hesitate to report any person attempting to commit any crime or any other offense that is punishable by law.
