Dubai: Another Indian expatriate in the UAE, this time a trader, has struck gold in the latest millionaire raffle draw of Dubai Duty Free (DDF).

Officials announced on Tuesday that Farhaan Arman, a resident of Bangalore, India, has just won $1 million in Dubai Duty Free’s Millennium Millionaire Promotion.

The new dollar millionaire is a 31-year-old entrepreneur. Commenting on his win, Arman said he couldn’t believe it when news came about his winning.

“This is one of the best things that ever happened to me. Thanks to Dubai Duty Free for my lucky win,” he said.

Since its inception, DDF has declared 239 individuals as millionaires. Among those who have won the raffle, 114 are Indians.

The promotion is widely anticipated by residents in UAE and offers a one-in-5,000 chance to win $1 million.

Dubai Duty Free also announced the winners for the Finest Surprise draw, which seeks to give away luxury cars and motorbikes.

Muhammad Sheraz, a 29-year old businessman from Nawabshah, Pakistan won a BMW 750Li xDrive M Sport (mineral white) in Series 1650 with ticket number 1059.

A sports Ducati Monster 821 went to Mark Ruddock, a British national living in Dubai. Ruddock won his Superbike in Series 301 with ticket number 0087.

The winning ticket numbers were drawn by Dubai Duty Free senior officials, including Ramesh Cidambi, chief operating officer; Salah Tahlak, executive vice president for corporate services; Nic Bruwer, executive vice president for commercial; Sean Staunton, senior vice president for retail sales and Michael Schmidt, senior vice president for retail support.
