Dubai: Dubai’s glow-in-the-night Park is back for its season three with a new Ice Park in the heart of the desert city.

The third season of Dubai Garden Glow (DGG) in Zabeel Park Area B was opened on Tuesday evening with a preview for the media.

The ice-themed park is the latest addition to the glow garden that had added a Dinosaur Park with over 100 animatronics Dinosaurs on display from its second season.

It is set to be a unique experience for the visitors with miniature ice sculptures of Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab, Dubai Airports, Clock Tower, Shaikh Zayed Mosque, Ice Age characters, camels, dinosaurs etc.

The Ice Park has been designed around the theme of global warming and packs an array of illuminated ice sculptures at a temperature that is set at -8 degree Celsius.

The entry fee to the DGG, including the Dinosaur Park, will remain the same at Dh60 for those above three years.

However, an additional entry fee of Dh40 will be charged for the Ice Park, said Sharif Rahman, CEO of Falak Holding, which has built and operates the park for Dubai Municipality.

There will be a separate ticket counter at the Ice Park where thermal jackets will be provided to the visitors, he said.

Juma Khalifa Al Fuqaei, director of the Assets Management Department at the municipality, who inaugurated the park said 3,000 tonnes of locally manufactured ice was used to carve the miniature sculptures of the landmarks.

Rahman said the Ice Park will be open to the public only from this weekend.

Spread across 100 acres, DGG  showcases creative installations by 500 artists made of luminous five tonnes of recycled fabrics and 10 million energy saving LED lights.

An art installation of Dubai’s official hashtag #MyDubai, a Happiness Street, and underwater wonderland and a happy forest are among the other highlights of the garden in this season.

It also features giant colorful lanterns, illuminated animal sculptures inspired by wildlife and beautifully crafted objects of art representing nature and it’s landscapes.
