Dubai: A tourist recently made a quick stopover in Dubai on his way to holiday in Brazil when he decided to buy a raffle ticket at the airport. Little did he know the raffle ticket he bought out of the blue was going to make him a millionaire.

Jeremy K., 38, an Australian national, was declared the winner in the latest Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire Promotion on Tuesday. When he was informed of his winning, Jeremy said he couldn’t believe his luck.

“I was travelling to Brazil for a holiday when I bought the only available ticket from the Finest Surprise counter, and it must have been my lucky day and I am very delighted I went for it.”

“Thank you very much Dubai Duty Free for running this amazing competition, you have made my day special and something to remember for life,” said Jeremy.

Dubai Duty Free also declared two winners for the Finest Surprise promotion, and each of them will be driving home a luxury vehicle.

One of the lucky draw participants, Alberto Stringl from Italy, just won for himself a BMW R Nine T Scrambler.

Stringl is a 45-year-old father of one from Vercelli, Italy. He is a regular participant of the Dubai Duty Free Finest Surprise promotion and buys a ticket whenever he visits Dubai.

During his last purchase, he bought eight tickets at once to widen his chances. “I’m very excited and happy that I won, and I thank Dubai Duty Free for this incredible good news.”

Stringl, who works as sales area manager for a ceramic company, is currently in Dubai on business.

Another winner who will drive home a stylish motorbike BMW R Nine T Urban is David Kingen.

The 46-year-old native of Bullingen, Belgium and a member of the Belgian State Defense, Kingen made an online purchase for four tickets and was equally delighted on hearing the news.
