Dubai: Sharjah Museums will mark International Museum Day for one week beginning on May 18 to further develop a museum-going culture among the UAE population.
A mobile exhibition with the theme “Museum collections make connections” will be temporarily installed at three different UAE locations.
The exhibition will document how modes of transport progressed from camels to spaceships. Visitors will be invited to discover facts about travel through interaction with relevant artefacts, 3D models and paintings on loan from eight Sharjah museums.
Sharjah Museums also launched a social media campaign called “#Heartifact” to encourage visitors to take pictures of a personal object that has a special meaning in their lives and circulate them via Instagram.
