Abu Dhabi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the Abu Dhabi Presidential Palace on Saturday evening as part of a four-nation tour.

At the new Presidential Palace, Indian PM Modi and Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed oversaw various Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs).

Major deals were signed in the presence of Modi and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

The agreement on India’s participation in oil exploration in the UAE is the most important one, Anwar Gargash, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, told Gulf News.

Other private agreements were signed earlier at the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi.

Those included:

​MoU between IIM Ahmedabad and BRS Ventures Investment Limited

An MoU was signed between Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) and BRS Ventures Investment Limited to jointly establish IIMA Extension Centre in Dubai, UAE.

This will be the first extension centre of IIMA outside India. The new centre shall provide leadership programmes to corporates and partner with the UAE Government for the formulation of public policy.

BRS Ventures will provide local support including infrastructure, industry links and logistics, and IIMA will provide the academic and training expertise.

The MoU was signed by Prof. Errol D’Souza, Director, IIMA from India, and Dr. B R Shetty, Chairman, BRS Ventures Investment Limited, UAE. 

​MoU between Manipal Global Education Services Private Limited, India and BRS Ventures Investment Limited

The MoU was signed between Manipal Global Education Services Private Limited, India and BRS Ventures Investment Limited for the setting up of Dubai Manipal Medical College (DMCC) in the UAE.

Both the institutions will enter into a joint venture to develop a detailed plan regarding the management structure of DMMC including its academic and operational policies and procedures, financial operations, admissions process, ownership and use of intellectual property.

The MoU was signed by Dr Ranjan Pai, Director, Manipal Education Private Limited, from India, and Dr Shetty.

 

​Agreement between CropData Technology Private Ltd (CDT), India and Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), UAE

India-based CropData Technology Private Ltd (CDT) signed  an agreement with Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) to jointly develop a pan-India online agricultural trading marketplace. It is envisaged that the online platform will network 500 logistics hubs within India to ensure seamless physical delivery of agricultural produce, immensely helping farmers getting better price for their produce. 

DMCC shall design and develop the platform and act as a gateway for Indian Exports to Middle East region, thus enhancing the bilateral trade between India and UAE.

The MoU will be signed by Mr Sachin Suri, MD, CDT from India, and Mr Gautam Sashittal, CEO-DMCC from UAE. 

MoU between the Two major think tanks Emirates Policy Centre and Observer Research Foundation of UAE and India  for mutual cooperation.
