Washington, Abu Dhabi: US President Barack Obama on Friday spoke with the leaders of Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and the UAE to share details on the framework agreement reached with Iran, the White House said in a statement.

Obama also invited the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council to meet with him at Camp David this spring to discuss the tentative deal.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Friday received a call from Obama, during which he briefed him on the framework deal regarding Iran’s nuclear programme.

Shaikh Mohammad expressed the hope for the conclusion of a final abiding agreement that contributes towards enhancement of security and stability in the region and wider world.

Shaikh Mohammad and President Obama discussed ways to solidify the bilateral ties for the best interests of the two countries. They also exchanged views on a variety of issues of mutual concern and the latest regional developments, notably the evolving events in Yemen.

The two sides emphasised their keenness to strengthen pillars of peace and stability in the region.
