Sharjah: The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority has announced a new project to develop the infrastructure in the Al Musalla area in Sharjah at a cost of Dh10 million.

The project will include renovations on Al Fadhl Bin Abbass Road, which connects Bareeda Bin Khaseeb Road opposite the Eid prayer area in Al Musalla, and Al Zahra Road. The new road will include two lanes as well as several pedestrian crossings, said Sulaiman Abdul Rahman Al Hajeri, director of the authority.

The 2,500 square metre prayer area, which is located near the new Sharjah Municipality, will also be paved and used for two purposes. The area will be used as a parking lot throughout the year and as a prayer space during both Eids. Around 60 per cent of the area has already been paved, Al Hajeri said. The project will also include a rainwater drainage network.
