Dubai: A man who rammed his car into a lamp post on Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road died in hospital on Monday.

The Jordanian victim was airlifted to hospital, but his injuries were too severe.

Colonel Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, director of Dubai Traffic Police, said the car crash happened at around 10pm on Monday near Al Awir exit.

The driver who was allegedly speeding, lost control of his car and swerved into the lamp post.

Also on Monday, a cyclist was severely injured in a collision with a car at around 9.05am.

In the third incident, two people sustained moderate injuries and two sustained minor injuries, when two vehicles collided on Al Khail road after the fourth bridge in the Dubai direction at around 11am on Tuesday.

Col Al Mazroui said that not leaving enough distance between vehicles caused the collision.
