Dubai: Emaar is seeking permission from Springs 7 residents in Emirates Living to shift a 24-hour medical centre in Springs Village to a villa in the community.

A survey form addressed to tenants and owners of villas in Springs 7 is being circulated for residents to vote for or against shifting the Rosary Medical Clinic to a villa.

Security personnel at the entrance are handing out forms asking residents to fill out a questionnaire and hand it back to them.

The form carries a list of “benefits” and “burdens” of shifting the clinic. “Benefits include… easy access to medical facilities… exclusive discounted health care rates to Springs 7 residents. Burdens include.. traffic outside the community accessing the medical facility… overcrowded parking around the villa… access control and security issues due to non-residents entering the community..,” read the survey form. Emirates Living residents had a mixed response to the move. “I will not mind if the clinic moved to Springs 7. To be able to get to a 24-hour clinic in three minutes is brilliant. We are lucky to have a clinic close by for any medical emergency,” said a Springs 9 resident. Another resident expressing disappointment said: “I don’t live in Springs 7, but I think it’s a disaster waiting to happen. Having a clinic in a residential street is not a good idea. Imagine all the traffic in front of the villa and strangers wandering into the community.

Another resident said: “The best thing would be to adopt a villa facing the external road so people can still park inside the Springs Village and walk up to the villa inside Springs 7.”

An Emaar spokesperson said via email that the developer will adhere to the decision of the majority. “We are seeking the opinion of the residents within the immediate vicinity of the proposed clinic to understand their views. We will adhere to the decision of the majority.”
