Abu Dhabi: The UAE Foreign Ministry advised Emirati citizens not to travel to India, due to the increasing number of swine flu cases reported in different parts of India.

Rashid Al Daheri, Director of the Department of Nationals Affairs at the Ministry, said: “The warning comes in line with the ministry’s keenness on the safety of all Emiratis abroad. The ministry stressed the importance of Emiratis’ abidance by instructions that aim to ensure their safety.”

The ministry called on Emiratis in India to be cautiois and avoid areas where the virus is spreading and contact the UAE Embassy in New Delhi at +911-126111111.

The ministry also urged citizens to register with Tawajudi Service and have themselves familiarised with travel advices and instructions via the ministry’s website www.mofa.gov.ae
