DUBAI A first-of-its-kind Sufi concert by musical greats A.R. Rahman, Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Sunidhi Chauhan is all set to wow Dubai audiences next month.
To be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre on December 18-19, the Dubai Sufi Weekend is being promoted by Emirates Neon Group (ENG) and Purple Vogue Events (PVE), with leading radio channels Hum 106.2 and Josh 97.8 as their media partners.
Rehan Merchant of ENG said: “We’ve never seen such a line-up of legends in Dubai before. The show is a world premiere and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
While Oscar-winning Rahman will deliver his soulful Sufi music over two and a half hours on the first evening, Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Sunidhi Chauhan will come together on the second for three and a half hours.
“The two of them will first sing solo which will then be followed by a combined performance,” said Samir Ahmad of PVE.
Gates at the Shaikh Saeed Hall where the concert will take place will open at 7pm.
Tickets, priced at Dh195, Dh295, Dh395, Dh495 and Dh750, can be purchased at www.platinumlist.com from November 20. Table packages priced between Dh1,000-Dh2,500 will also be available.
