World Heavyweight Champion Anthony Joshua will take centre stage during the final weekend carnival of Dubai Fitness Challenge, set to take place at Dubai Festival City on 17th and 18th November. Joshua has confirmed his participation in the city-wide fitness initiative, vowing to play his part in encouraging people to boost their physical activity and commit to a healthy lifestyle.

Dubai: World Heavyweight Champion Anthony Joshua will take centre stage during the final weekend carnival of Dubai Fitness Challenge, set to take place at Dubai Festival City on November 17 and 18.

Joshua has confirmed his participation in the citywide fitness initiative, vowing to play his part in encouraging people to boost their physical activity and commit to a healthy lifestyle.

Joshua’s impressive career has seen him win all of his 18 fights at the Amateur level, including the Senior ABA Championships in 2010. The following year, Joshua made his mark on the global boxing scene by representing Britain at the 2012 London Olympic Games, where he won gold in the Super Heavyweight division. In 2013, Joshua turned professional, signing with Matchroom Boxing, and for the next three years he remained undefeated in 19 fights, including his successful defence of the heavyweight belt he won in April 2016 against USA’s Charles Martin.

Speaking ahead of his Dubai Fitness Challenge appearance, Joshua said: “It’s been a year since my last trip to Dubai and I am excited to be going back again to be part of the inaugural Dubai Fitness Challenge. It’s a great initiative that encourages people to get active for 30 minutes daily for 30 days. I am committed to getting people moving and I’m looking forward to being part of this fitness movement. Yallah, see you there!”

Dubai Fitness Challenge has been created to motivate Dubai’s citizens, residents and visitors to boost their physical activity and commit to 30 minutes of daily activity for 30 days. Running from October 20 to November 18, 2017, the challenge encompasses all forms of activity — from beach cricket, cycling and football, to paddle-boarding, team sports, walking and yoga. All ages and fitness levels are encouraged to participate individually or with friends, family and colleagues, and enjoy new and exciting ways to improve their fitness levels.
