Abu Dhabi: An improved signalised intersection has been introduced on Abu Dhabi’s Al Falah Street in a bid to ease traffic congestion near Shaikh Zayed Street, one of the capital’s busiest thoroughfares.

The intersection, which is located between Fatima Bint Mubarak Street and Shaikh Zayed Street, will enable smoother access to Shaikh Zayed Street, which houses many government departments and ministries, the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City announced in a statement sent on Sunday.

The intersection has been expanded, and now includes a U-turn towards Shaikh Zayed Street. LED lamps have been used to illuminate the junction.

According to the municipality, the changes will also facilitate smoother travel to the city’s central business district for incoming motorists on Shaikh Zayed Street.
