Dubai: Dubai Municipality on Thursday warned the public against using a product called Dream Water which claims to help solve insomnia and sleep disorders.
The Public Health and Safety Department of the civic body took to social media to warn the public that the product may have side effects as well. It also revealed that the product was not registered with the municipality though it is being sold across the UAE through social media channels.
“We had received this company’s request for registration,” Dr Naseem Mohammad Rafei, the head of products safety section, told Gulf News.
“However, we refused it because the health claim that they are making cannot be registered with us,” she said.
The municipality clarified that the pharmaceutical components in the product can be used only with prescriptions.
