Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Health has announced that the suspected Ebola case had proved negative for the disease and has left the country.

The suspected patient, a passenger, who was on a flight from Liberia to Dubai airport, was suspected of having Ebola as he was suffering from diarrhoea.

The Dubai Health Authority conducted the necessary medial tests and procedures endorsed by the World Health Organisation in such cases.

All preventive and precautionary measures were taken by health authorities to make sure the passenger was free of Ebola before he was discharged and allowed to return home.

Meanwhile, the Health Authority-Abu Dhabi confirmed that the tests conducted for the Nigerian girl, who was a transit passenger through Abu Dhabi airport, have proved negative.

The girl left the country after it was proven that she is free of Ebola.

The ministry said national institutions and health bodies were working together to fight the threat of Ebola, and they are keeping in close contact with the WHO to keep abreast of the latest developments
