Dubai: Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, issued Executive Council Resolution No. 1 of 2018 approving the fees for some of the services provided by Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS).

In case of traffic accidents, the ambulance service fees defined in this resolution are not applicable and the fees will be charged according to the Executive Council Resolution No. 2 of 2016, which stipulates that Dubai Police and DCAS may collect Dh6,770 per patient from the insurance company of the person at fault against the ambulance and medical evacuation services.

According to Appendix 1 of the new resolution, DCAS may collect Dh600 for providing basic ambulance service on the site without evacuation, Dh800 for providing basic ambulance service on the site with evacuation, Dh1,000 for providing level 1 ambulance service and Dh1,200 for providing level 2 ambulance service. Appendix 2 of the resolution defines DCAS’ fees against providing training services or evacuation drills to non-government entities. The resolution authorises DCAS to collect fees from the patient’s insurance company against its services as prescribed in Appendix 1 pertaining to emergency services; and the patient, under any circumstance, does not bear any financial liability or copay against the services provided. Meanwhile, DCAS is obligated to provide ambulance services for patients that do not hold insurance or hold an expired insurance.

This resolution is valid from the date of publication and to be published in the Official Gazette.
