Dubai: Gulf Medical College (GMC) Hospital is the first private hospital in Ajman to offer catheterisation lab services.

His Highness Shaikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, inaugurated the CATH LAB.

Thumbay Moideen, Founder President of Thumbay Group, was also present along with top officials.

With the catheterisation lab facility, the hospital will be able to treat heart and artery-related issues in the region. The lab is equipped to offer services that vary from cardiac investigations to interventional cardiology procedures.

As the first Joint Commission International (JCI) accredited hospital in Ajman, the hospital expanded its range of services with the recently launched catheterisation lab facility for patients with heart conditions.

According to Dr Manvir Singh Walia, Thumbay Group Administrative Director of the Healthcare Division, a team of renowned cardiac specialists are capable of performing emergency interventional cardiac treatment.

“Our aim is to continue delivering the best health care in the region through the use of latest technology,” said Akbar Moideen, Thumbay Director Healthcare and Retail.

Dr Walia pointed out that with the necessary surgical equipment and high-end angiographic equipment doctors are able to tailor approaches to unique cardiological problems. Additionally, cardiologists have extensive experience in endovascular interventions and enough knowledge on interventional procedures for coronary artery diseases.

With patients from over 175 countries, the hospital contains a coronary care unit catering to the needs of cardiac patients in critical condition. The hospital also offers an emergency cardiac service at all times for patients with acute heart attacks.
