Dubai: Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has donated his $6 million (Dh22 million) prize money for Prince Bishop winning the Dubai World Cup horse race to Dubai Autism Centre.
Shaikh Hamdan expressed his optimism in relation to the initiatives that will be carried out by the organisation and the psychological, social and therapeutic benefits it provides for autistic children. He also directed that speedy plans and initiatives be launched so that the children in the centre will soon reap the benefit.
Shaikh Hamdan, who is chairman of the autism centre, earned the windfall when one of the horses he owns — Prince Bishop — won the 20th edition of the world’s richest horse race at Meydan Racecourse on Saturday night.
