Dubai: An urban transport innovation index has been launched to make Dubai the most innovative city in the world and advance its stature as a global destination.
The index, the first of its kind in the world, was launched by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, yesterday (Sunday). It comprises 20 initiatives that will be implemented in three years
The index comes in line with Dubai Plan 2021 that reflects the vision of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to reinforce Dubai’s position as a global destination on various levels.
Dubai Plan 2021 was launched by Shaikh Mohammad in December 2014 with an aim to build on the success of the Dubai Strategic Plan 2015.
Dubai Plan 2021 aims to enhance Dubai’s status as a global centre and destination for a number of industries and sectors as part of which it has launched several major global initiatives and hosted several global events.
